Question about sizing. My chest size is 42 which normally means Medium. But the windproof should be at least a bit baggy. Is it factored in the sizing, or should I get one size larger?

Just checked mine, it's a size 2 (which I believe is Medium) I'm a 40 inch chest and this fit comfortably with vest, shirt, jumper and battledress!
My reworked USMC 782 gear. New first pattern canteen covers from ATF. I went ahead and threw my (real) M1 Carbine into the pic just because it goes with it (despite the late features...)
For airsoft this would be a CYMA Thompson with XX magazines, with a 5-cell pouch replacing the M1 Carbine pouch. All original minus the ATF compass pouch and ATF canteen covers. That's even an original 1942 serial range M1911A1! 
Anyway, I tried taking a photo of my entire Iwo Jima kit but failed miserably because apparently I don't own a single device capable of taking a good photo of anything? :/

Not bad at all, a scrim scarf would be good to hide that not very brit and quite modern looking t-shirt

Modern yes, not-so-british no. It's a UBACS t-shirt. As to scarf, I was dying in the heat as I was, so not very practical. My bad though for not removing the t-shirt or zipping up for it.

Try it in the heat. Give it a chance. Neckerchiefs were worn for thousands of years in hot climates precisely because they help when it's hot. They absorb sweat and they prevent sunburns. Just wear it loose and "puffy", not tightly wound around the neck.
Those scrim nets were often used wrapped around the back, to break the line of the small pack. So sort of like a scouting scarf.

first pic would look so much better if you shouldered the rifle properly.
It always seems such a shame that people put loads of effort into their kit looking 'realistic' then use their rifle/aeg as if its a cap gun and have the stock hovering over or around their shoulder so they can get an aiming advantage

By not very british i mean that Britain didnt have green t-shirts on issue in those days
There was a cream/offwhite t-shirt type undershirt but it has button closure a quarter down the front and not the sort of elasitcated neck we have these days.
I find UBACS shirts pretty hot under anything other than a CBA vest tbh. It's the foam padding on the shoulders and forearms, pools sweat like a bastard. I'm assuming you've taken this out though

Very true and I believe this pic was taken as I was crawling into postion because I almost always have the rifle in my shoulder when shooting- it helps with cocking the thing for a start!
